Golisano Foundation Celebrating 25 Years of Service and Presenting First Leadership Awards
October 25, 2010 – The Golisano Foundation will present its first ever Leadership Awards for Exemplary Health Care Service to five local health care professionals who have demonstrated extraordinary work to improve health care and access to care for people with intellectual disabilities. Read more

Golisano Foundation Funds Training for 40 Healthcare Professionals from Several States
September 20, 2010 – With the help of the Golisano Foundation, 40 doctors and other health care professionals from New York, Massachusetts, Texas, Georgia, California, and Washington, D.C., were trained through the Special Olympics Healthy Athletes program to screen individuals with intellectual disabilities participating in Special Olympics events. In addition, Tom Golisano personally donated $150,000 to Special Olympics to expand training in other parts of the United States. Read more

Golisano Foundation Grants $960,000 to Institute for Innovative Transition
August 10, 2010 – Ann Costello, Director of The Golisano Foundation today announced that the Foundation has awarded a three-year grant of $960,000 to the Institute for Innovative Transitionto continue its work to improve transition outcomes and experiences for students and young adults with developmental disabilities as they transition from school to the adult world. Read more

Naples, FL – May 3, 2010 – The Children’s Museum of Naples (C’mon) is pleased to recognize the extraordinary generosity of businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist B. Thomas Golisano by naming the Museum the “Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples.” Golisano is the Founder and Chairman of Paychex, Inc., a leader in the payroll and human resource industry. As the lead donor to the C’mon Campaign with a $5 million challenge grant, Golisano hopes to inspire other philanthropists to support the worthwhile campaign to bring the new Museum to completion. Golisano Foundation, Institute for Innovative Transition, Keuka and Roberts Wesleyan Colleges Recognized at Clinton Global Initiative University
April 16, 2010 – Ann Costello, Director of the Golisano Foundation; University of Rochester Warner School professors Martha Mock and Susan Hetherington; Elizabeth McAnarney, chair and professor emerita of pediatrics at the University of Rochester Medical Center; Dr. Joe Burke, President of Keuka College; and Dr. John Martin, President of Roberts Wesleyan College will attend the third annual meeting of Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U), hosted by former U.S. President Bill Clinton and his foundation. Dr. Martin and Dr. Burke will showcase their current campus-based programs for students with intellectual disabilities. Read more

Timothy Shriver is Keynote Speaker at 5th Annual Kirch Conference
March 8, 2010
– The Kirch Conference, presented annually to honor Andrew J. Kirch, brings information about developmental disabilities to individuals with disabilities, their families, and the professionals who work with them. This year’s conference focuses on wellness and developing healthy lifestyles for transition age individuals with developmental disabilities. The Golisano Foundation is pleased to sponsor the keynote speaker, Timothy Shriver, Ph.D., who will focus on health and wellness for athletes with developmental disabilities. Shriver, Chairman of the Special Olympics for 14 years, serves 3.1 million Special Olympics athletes and their families in 175 countries. He has helped transform Special Olympics into a movement that focuses on respect, acceptance, and inclusion for individuals with intellectual disabilities in all corners of the globe. Read more
