Celebrating 25 Years - 1985 - 2010 - Golisano Foundation Milestones
1985
- Founded with an initial gift of $90,000 from Tom Golisano.
- Three early trustees - Gloria Austin, Tom Clark, and Tom Golisano - formed " a kitchen cabinet" to support services to create an environment of dignity and care for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Grants totaled $56,000 the first year
1998
- Ann Costello was hired as the Foundation's first director.
- Three new trustees appointed - Jim Murray, Nancy Koch and Macke Raymond.
- Assets totaled $10 million.
- $613,700 awarded in grants.
2000
- Assets continue to grow reaching $25 million.
- For the first time the Foundation distributes more than $1 million in grants.
2001
The Full Circle Careers in Caring campaign is launched with a three-year $250,000 matching grant from the Foundation enabling Arc of Monroe, CDC, HCS and LAI
to recruit and retain direct care workers.
