Arc of Erie County New York
$250,000 for renovations to 6,500 square foot second floor space on Main Street in Buffalo to create a Specialized Workforce Training and Community Center with training suites designed for specific, hands-on, curriculum based training.

$19,000 for a pilot project to establish a DIR/Floortime provider and training center in WNY; focus on increasing treatment options for children with significant DD.

Catholic Charities Community Services of Rochester
$200,000 for renovations at 4 residential sites in Monroe County serving adults living with I/DD that are aging to support them more effectively and make a more accessible, comfortable individualized environment.

Freedom Guide Dogs
$60,000 for Hometown Training which provides at-home guide dog training to blind clients with disabilities in addition to blindness.

Heritage Christian Services
$650,000 for the Homes with Heart Campaign to upgrade and modernize 7 homes and build 6 new homes to ensure residents may age in place while maintaining their quality of life by improving the livability and accessibility for individuals living in HCS homes.

KEYS Music Therapy Outreach Program
$10,000 for the Music Therapy Outreach Program to provide telehealth music therapy to 50 children with disabilities, ages 5 through 21, in rural areas of WNY, Rochester & Finger Lakes regions.

LARC, Inc. 
$25,000 for the LAB (Learn, Achieve, Become) program support to assist with staffing and supply costs to continue to build upon existing LAB programs.

Mary Cariola
$20,000 to support Oral Health Coordinator to organize oral health services program for students and families along with coordination of the Eastman Dental Center SMILEMobile and oral health research project.

STARability Foundation
$100,000 for expansion of the Vocational Services Program by supporting staffing, product expansion, and creating additional vocational training opportunities.

The Summit Center
$20,000 to support respite care for individuals with Autism to increase current capability of serving 10 children a day to return to pre-COVID occupancy of 30+ individuals a day and eliminate current waitlist of 70+.

Bailey and Friends Grants Awarded October 2021

Keller’s Kats Rescue, Inc.
$5,000 to support the Combo testing of rescued kittens and cats in preparation for adoption and to support the utilization of the Animal Shelter Manager System.

Lollypop Farm the Humane Society of Greater Rochester
$3,000 to support a variety of Humane Education programs through the use of technology subscriptions, curriculum workbooks and materials, classroom and camp supplies.

Youth Haven, Inc. 
$2,500 to support expenses accrued with the cost of care for two certified therapy dogs in the Animal-Assisted Therapy program at Youth Haven, Inc. in Naples, FL.

$300,000 over 3 years to establish AutismUp's Center for Community Transition (My Full Life Academy) - a program that provides a modern approach to transition support for individuals 18-21+ living with IDD.

EPI (Empowering People’s Independence)
$200,000 for a Collaborative of four agencies to expand knowledge and access to OPWDD's self-directed services through a 2-year mentoring partnership between EPI, Catholic Charities of Rochester, Urban League of Rochester and Ibero-American Action League.

Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida
$50,000 Pathways to Opportunity is a day training program addressing the gap in services for adults with IDD transitioning from school to living independently as possible.

Gliding Stars, Inc.
$20,000 Adaptive ice-skating program for youth with I/ DD in Rochester and Western New York chapters.

Disability EmpowHer Network
$20,000 EmpowHer Camp is a skill-building, empowerment, and mentoring program that brings together girls with disabilities and successful disabled women mentors for one year to develop leadership skills.

Abilities Movement
$16,000 Expansion of current fitness, wellness, sports opportunities and community integration for people with disabilities through one-on-one personal fitness training and classes.

David’s Refuge
$15,000 Overnight respite, resources, connection and support for parents and guardians of children with I/DD.  

Naples Therapeutic Riding Center

$15,000 to support and expand horse therapy herd and assist with training of additional volunteers to expand therapeutic riding program.

Bivona Child Advocacy Center

$11,000 Bivona will partner with the Monique Burr Foundation and educators from BOCES to transform the current MBF school-based abuse prevention programs into an evidence-informed program appropriate for students with IDD.

Humane Society of Yates County
$20,000 to purchase clinic items and additional supplies that are essential to an in-house medical shelter clinic for cats and dogs of all ages.

Pet Adoption Network
$5,000 towards veterinary costs incurred when rescuing, fostering, spaying and neutering kittens and cats in Monroe County in preparation for adoption.

$122,000 for the expansion of ECHO Autism programs at the Golisano Children's Hospital that educates local providers in Rochester on autism treatment so families can receive care from trusted providers in their communities.

Research Foundation for SUNY
$10,000 for CampAbilities 2021 - Virtual summer camp for youth who are blind or visually impaired; teaches sports as well as strategies for wellness and self-advocacy.

GiGi’s Playhouse, Buffalo
$50,000 to implement the Amina Grace Speech & Language program to teach effective speech and communication skills to individuals of all ages with Down syndrome.

GiGi’s Playhouse, Rochester
$37,000 to support the expansion of the Amina Grace Speech & Language program which was brought to the playhouse in 2019 with support from the GF to teach effective speech and communication skills to individuals of all ages with Down syndrome.

$15,000 for the Green Visions program that provides workforce development training, and work experience for at-risk youth and youth with IDD.

Hochstein School of Music & Dance
$25,000 for the Expressive Arts Program providing music, dance and art therapy for people with IDD offered in group or individuals sessions virtually and in person.

Homesteads for Hope, Inc.
$25,000 to support the expansion of Ready! Set! Work! & Social Garden Experience; Community farm experience programs for young adults with disabilities over the age of 18 during May to October 2021.

Inclusion in Motion
$15,000 to support building an all-inclusive playground in Canandaigua, NY where people of all abilities can "Learn Together, Play Together and Be Together"; funds will be used to pour ground coverage for wheelchair access and mobility.

Mason’s Mission Foundation
$15,000 to support building Supermatty’s Water Park - Funds will be used towards the purchase of equipment to create an inclusive waterpark in Lockport, NY.

Naples Players
$20,000 for the KidzAct Wellness & Inclusion Program; community access to the performing arts using theater techniques to educate, entertain and serve individuals with disabilities.

Urban League of Rochester, NY, Inc.
$60,000 for Day Hab kitchen and bathroom renovations, as well as, a billing system upgrade to Precision Care software which will be used for case management, compliance and reimbursement.

University of Florida Foundation
$70,000 to support the Community Outreach Dental Program to increase access to comprehensive oral health care for children with ASD through education, behavioral strategies and dental environment simulation.

WXXI Public Broadcasting
$237,500 to support the continuation and expansion of Move to Include multi-media initiative to promote and encourage inclusion of, for and with people of determination.

Ferals, Kittens, and Cats Oh My
$1,500 to support facets of the TNR program and emergency medical care for community cat colonies in the underserved, inner city areas of Rochester, NY.

Humane Society of Schuyler County
$6,000 to spay and neuter shelter dogs and cats prior to adoption in collaboration with Shelter Outreach Services and Cornell Veterinary College services who perform such surgeries at a reduced cost.

Operation Freedom Ride, Inc.
$20,000 towards the purchase of a transit van, which will be used to deliver donations to southern shelter partners, transport dogs from those shelters to Rochester, NY, and transport animals to medical and foster to adopt appointments.

Rescued Treasures Pet Adoptions
$3,000 to spay, neuter, and provide general medical care for puppies rescued from both in and out of state high-kill shelters, illegal puppy mills, and hoarding cases in preparation for adoption.

ROC The Dogs Rescue, Inc.
$2,000 to vet and care for rescued abandoned, surrendered, abused, and neglected dogs including spaying / neutering surgeries, emergency procedures, vaccines, special food, and supplies in preparation for adoption.

Wyoming County SPCA
$5,000 towards the purchase of a Mason Co. Fiberglass Cat Suite, which will expand the kitten nursery and increase the intake capacity during and after kitten season concluding in October.

Florida Coastal Cocker Rescue
$3,000 to vet and provide wellness care for rescued Cocker Spaniels and similar small dog breeds in preparation for adoption in the Cape Coral and surrounding communities in Southwest, Florida.

SNIP Collier, Inc.
$20,000 towards the renovation of an existing kennel building that will be used to provide low cost veterinary services for the Immokalee area and surrounding impoverished Collier County community residents. A generous Collier County donor matched this grant award.
